1. Who we are
Pulse Mitra is a healthcare companion service operated by CikitsaIndia, Silver Square, Whitefield Main Road, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. In this policy “we”, “us” and “Pulse Mitra” mean that company, and “you” means the person using our website, our mobile app or our helpline. We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described below.
2. Information we collect
| Category | What it includes | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Account details | Name, mobile number, email address, password or Google Sign-In identifier, age and gender. | To create your account, verify it by OTP, and identify you when you call us. |
| Health information | Diagnostic and laboratory reports you upload (PDF or image), symptoms, conditions, medication and other health details you or your family share with us, and the summaries we generate from them. | To explain your reports in plain language and guide you to the right doctor or hospital. |
| Location | Approximate or precise device location, only while the app is open and only after you allow it. | To show hospitals, laboratories and doctors near you. You can decline and enter your city manually. |
| Enquiries | Name, phone, email and message submitted through the website contact and call-back forms. | To respond to you. |
| Technical data | Device model, operating system, app version, IP address, and error or crash logs. | To keep the service secure, diagnose faults and improve reliability. |
We do not collect your contacts, photos gallery, SMS messages, call logs or microphone audio. The app reads only the specific file you pick when you upload a report.
3. How we use your information
- To read your uploaded reports and produce a plain-language explanation of the results.
- To recommend suitable doctors, hospitals, laboratories and health checks, and to arrange appointments or second opinions when you ask us to.
- To let our care coordinators assist you over the phone with your history in front of them.
- To operate your subscription plan, take payments and send service messages such as OTPs, appointment reminders and report-ready alerts.
- To keep the platform secure, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations.
- To send health tips and newsletters — only if you subscribe, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not use your health information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
4. Automated analysis of your reports
Uploaded reports are processed by Google’s Gemini AI service so that the values can be extracted and explained. The document is sent to Google for that processing under Google’s enterprise API terms; it is not used to train public AI models. The output is an explanation, not a diagnosis. It never replaces a qualified doctor’s advice, and a Pulse Mitra care coordinator reviews it before we recommend a course of action. Always consult a registered medical practitioner before acting on anything you read in the app.
5. Who we share information with
- Doctors, hospitals and laboratories — only the details needed for a consultation, test or appointment you have asked us to arrange, and only with your consent.
- Service providers — hosting, cloud storage, SMS and email delivery, payment processing and the AI processing described above. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
- Your employer or society — where Pulse Mitra is provided as a corporate or society benefit, we share only aggregate, de-identified participation and wellness statistics. Your individual reports and results are never shared with your employer or resident association.
- Legal authorities — where disclosure is required by law, court order or to protect life.
6. Storage, security and retention
Data is stored on servers located in India. Traffic is encrypted in transit with HTTPS, passwords are stored only in hashed form, and access to health records is restricted to the Pulse Mitra staff who need it to serve you. We keep your health records for as long as your account is active, and for up to 24 months after it is closed so that your history remains available if you return — after which they are deleted or irreversibly anonymised. Records we must retain for tax, accounting or legal reasons are kept for the period the law requires. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we notify you and the relevant authority promptly if a breach affects your data.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and correct anything inaccurate.
- Delete your account and the reports stored with it.
- Withdraw consent — for location, for marketing messages, or for processing generally.
- Ask us to stop sending promotional messages, using the unsubscribe link or by replying to us.
To close your account and erase your data, use our account deletion request form. For anything else, write to info@pulsemitra.org from your registered email or call +91 8884 94 95 96. We respond within 30 days. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out, and some features stop working without the data they depend on.
8. Children
Pulse Mitra accounts are for adults aged 18 and above. A parent or legal guardian may add a child to a family plan and manage that child’s health records; by doing so, the guardian consents to this policy on the child’s behalf. We do not knowingly create accounts for children directly, and we delete any such account we become aware of.
9. Cookies
Our website uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember form preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The mobile app stores your login session locally on your device so you don’t have to sign in each time.
10. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our services or the law change. The revision date at the top always reflects the current version, and we notify you in the app or by email before any material change takes effect.
